Several medical researchers, drug companies & Universities are working on developing vaccines
for various different types of drugs.
The vaccines prevent the drugs from reaching the addicts brain.
Clinical trials are now under way & show promising results.
Vaccines have been developed for cocaine, heroin & meth.
The National Institute On Drug Abuse NIDA has shown an interest in the research & clinical trials.
Also in the works are vaccines for nicotine & obesity.
At this time no one knows for sure how long it will be until the vaccines will be made available
to the General Public.
The scientist are optimistic that vaccine technology can be used against a host of public health issues.
